Search the Doctrines of the New Church

Overview

This tool allows you to search all of the Doctrines of the New Church. Type a keyword or keywords into the box to the left of the Search button and then click the Search button.

You can use AND, OR, and NOT to further refine your search.

Note: If you are new to the New Church we recommend that you start by picking a topic under Teachings which will lead you to suggested reading and searches. Or you might want to read What are the Doctrines of the New Church? or read descriptions of the books of the Doctrines of the New Church.

Search Options

Select Works to Search
If you want to search only certain books of the Doctrines click SHOW and then select the books you want to search.

Number of Results
If you search for a word like "God" you will get over 10,000 results. Chances are that you won't have time to read that many, so instead you can change the "Number of Results" setting so that it gives you only as many results as you want. Depending on your connection speed, these settings can make a noticeable difference in the time it takes for you to see your search results. (The default setting is 50 results.)

Results per Page
You can also change the "Results per Page" setting so that it only displays as many of the results at a time as you want. Depending on your connection speed, these settings can make a noticeable difference in the time it takes for you to see your search results. (The default setting is 10 results per page.)
